In cubing, a method is the system of steps used to solve a puzzle. There is a great variety of cubing methods. For speedsolving the 3x3x3 cube, the most used method is the Fridrich Method followed by the Petrus Method and the Roux Method. Methods for larger cubes include Reduction, Yau, and Hoya. For the 2x2x2 cube, there are methods such as LBL, Ortega, and EG.

There are also partial methods that solves certain "steps" of the general method, such as the OLL and PLL methods used in Fridrich, which are called substeps.
